Help:Behavior

From Wod

Jump to: navigation, search

Offensive behavior is frowned upon and will not be tolerated. Such behavior moves away from the point of the wiki--a fan material resource for the World of Darkness--and starts becoming a forum for petty wars.

So what's offensive behavior? I'm so glad you asked. The first key idea is that it's behavior, not material. Fan entries that deal with racism, sexism, horrific imagery and so on shouldn't be eliminated just because someone might find them offensive. If that was the case, this wiki would be limited to very few entries.

Offensive behavior, for the purposes of etiquette, are specific actions taken against another user that distracts from the purpose of the wiki. Name calling in talk pages, for example, is offensive behavior because it's implicitly or explicitly directed at someone, thus lowering the quality of the conversation. If you disagree, explain why; don't show your own stupidity by calling them names. Note that if you create an entry just to piss someone off, that's not a way around it. Obviously the motivation for such entries is a matter of debate, but the case against the entry-maker won't be waved away.
