Does anyone else think that the Nefandi legacy is trying waaay too hard to be "evil?" I see no need for adding additional complications (e.g. the eleventh Arcanum) to an already complex system (Mage in general). I think the addition of a "secret" or "evil" Arcanum belittles the other "core" Arcana.
Furthermore, the Abyss is the antithesis of Awakened magic, created by the Atlanteans' fall from grace and the price to be paid for their Hubris. Therefore, it should stand to reason that the Abyss would not have anything to do with Awakened magic, except the complete and total destruction thereof, to the point that no magic could even attempt to work with it (much less harness it) in the way the Legacy writeup describes. I'm not proposing the article be removed (that would be rude to the author), but rewritten and made to fit more in line with the spirit and letter of the core game. --Neil K., unregistered user
