Talk:Zero Coders

I like the names used (Case, Gibson, et al.), but is Wintermute supposed to refer to "Awakened Gibsons," or something else, seing as Awakening is a prerequisite for being a mage, and therefore, a Gibson. Maybe the entry was supposed to refer to "Ascended" Gibsons, or something else? ~(Neil K., unregistered user)

Ahh... a slight misunderstanding here. The term Gibson refers not just to the Bloggers/Kibo's but to their "file dumps", servers of information stored in Platonic reality. Thus an Awakened Gibson is a computer able to speak etc. Often these are constructs using mind, or a meld of spirit and the machine.

Well, in keeping with the Neuromancer motif, I think a more appropriate name for an artificially intelligent computer would be a "Dixie" or a "Flatline," or even a "McCoy" or a "Pauley." In my opinion, the Dixie Flatline was one of the most memorable characters in the book. ~(Neil K., unregistered user)

A dixie would be a good addition of what happens when a dead ZC has his soul grafted to a computer.
